Multichannel multipoint distribution service (MMDS) also known as wireless cable, is a wireless telecommunications technology. The signal of the MMDS station has a range of 40-50 km. The MMDS band uses microwave frequencies from 2.5 to 2.69 GHz in range. Reception of MMDS-delivered television signals is possible with a special rooftop microwave antenna and a set-top box for the television receiving the signals.
